Tap Dance: This course will consist of the choreography of Tap Master Henry LeTang consisting of 17 graded routines beginner through advanced. Students will also learn tap terminology, styles, and history. There will be a special emphasis on phrasing and dynamics.
Ballet: Students will learn posture, alignment, stretching and traditional ballet terminology. Both Russian and Italian methods will be taught.
Hip-Hop: A high-energy dance form influenced by African and other ethnic dance forms associated with the development of contemporary street dances of today.
Jazz: Great fun and exercise. The warm-up is based on coordination, rhythm, stretch, isolations and alignment. The student will learn short combinations of movements and dances done to popular music.
Theater Dance: This dance course is similar to Jazz and Tap dance but students will be learning dances recreated from Broadway shows. This class is a must for potential actors and singers as well as dancers. All forms of dance will be explored.
Modern: Learn the basics of modern Dance based on the Martha Graham Method. This pioneering technique places special emphasis on flexibility, strength, and control. Also, it explores free form movement and the release of weight and rebound.
Creative Dance: These classes are designed for utilizing all developmentally appropriate locomotive skills, emphasizing rhythm, and coordination through dance and the basic elements of motion.
